We are dedicated to creating a nurturing and empowering environment that prioritizes their safety, well-being, and personal growth.

Our vision is to be a web of trauma-informed grace-patience-compassion filled vessels of hope for children navigating through the journey of foster care or transitioning out of care. Support and advocacy is critical no matter what part of the journey a child is experiencing.
From the initial disruption through emancipation, a solid network of services is important. The program provides a sense of stability, belonging and security even more than the basic necessities that many are missing or not used to having. Consistent care and emotional support from people who genuinely care about their outcomes must remain at the forefront. Not all foster children experience trauma but involvement with the broken child welfare system is its own warzone and requires trauma-informed supporters and advocates.
Foster children often struggle with attachment and may find it hard to connect with others. Being a sounding board and resource to children in transition to safely usher them into adulthood.
The Bolton Empowerment Foundation was created with a mission to uplift and support those facing life’s toughest challenges. Inspired by deeply personal experiences, the foundation is committed to empowering cancer fighters, survivors, and children in foster care by providing resources, hope, and opportunities. We believe that no one should navigate these struggles alone, and through our programs, we strive to offer stability, strength, and a sense of community to those who need it most.
Founded by Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton, the foundation is a reflection of his family’s journey through adversity. Nick witnessed firsthand the resilience it takes to battle cancer through his mother and sister’s experiences, as well as the challenges faced by his siblings navigating foster care. These experiences shaped his belief that compassion and action can drive real change, creating a brighter future for individuals and families in need.
